On 17th October 2020, our MP Hon. Dr John Mutunga organized a fundraiser at Urru stadium to raise seed capital for the Tigania West sacco that would be used to empower various community based organizations across the constituency.The event was graced by many dignitaries among them our deputy president Dr William Ruto, who wholeheartedly gave to the cause to enable the realization of this dream. It is through this great initiative that Tigania West Sacco (TIWESA) came to life.
On 5th December, our MP issued cheques to the leaders of all the locational CBO’s from the entire constituency who participated in bringing TIWESA to life. The funds will be used as a pool where groups will be able to access loans at a low interest of 6% per month down from the 10% which has been the norm. This will enable them actualize their development goals in the various ventures they partake.
The MP also urged our people to ensure prudent management of the funds and utilize the loans productively to help uplift the livelihoods of our people.
The resources were equitably distributed among the CBOs based on their contributions towards the fundraiser.
Great projects for great people is the goal.
